Originally penned in 1966, this is probably still the reigning champion of definitive analytical works on the subject of Andrea Paladio and his legacy to mankind.
Manfred Wundram's book is fascinating and absolutely should be read by anyone who is serious about architecture. The casual reader may find that it goes rather deeper into the technicalities than he, or she, had intended to stray.
This is one of those books that may tell you rather more than you wanted to know, unless this is your chosen subject.
Having said all that, the photographs are stunning enough to arouse an interest in who Paladio was and how he managed to produce such elegant
simplicity.
