The
extensive use of meta tags to ensure
that most Internet search engines will include us in response
to most requests for information on a wide range of topics including pretty well every marine topic and
item in existence and much that is not related to sailing in any way,
since most sailors do other things, too!.
Our
extensive network of contacts is
already primed to introduce the magazine to movers and shakers of the
sailing fraternity the world over. Word
of mouth will, we hope, play a part
in our success but, just in case it doesn't, we will be having t-shirts
printed and other promotional gifts created, to give away at
up-coming marine events.
Existing well-visited websites are already eager to carry links to MarineZine
and we will be constantly encouraging more good sites to link up with us
as well as looking for opportunities to get publicity in other media,
for example by offering 'scoops' to local, national or international
newspapers or other printed publications in return for being credited as
the source.
We will also be contacting as many related organisations and
institutions as possible to let them know of our existence and looking
to obtain and keep a high profile at events.
The earlier version
of the MarineZine developed site traffic quite quickly, entirely on the
basis of less than fifty e-mails sent out to announce the launch!
