ABOUT THE WEBSITE:

ABOUT OUR HOST SERVER

ABOUT LANGUAGE: The main language of MarineZine is English. We will also be happy to carry links and articles in other languages, and would be very grateful for any that come with a translation into English.
We prefer to receive material which contains no obscenities but, if we do, we will edit them out if the material in itself merits the effort. Otherwise, we will simply delete it and forget it, so attempts to shock will be entirely wasted.

ABOUT THE 'OFFICE'

Leoprad Normand III under sailThe staysail schooner Leopard Normand III, wherever she happens to be... at the time of this issue coming online the first time around, she was at Horta marina on Faial in the Azores archipelago, out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

For various reasons, the magazine has been offline for over a year but, at the time of going back online, May 2003, we were at Almerimar marina in southern Spain.

THANKS AND APOLOGIES: Our humble apologies for the delay in getting this issue online. The fellow who accidentally caused a 'webquake' in the old version of the MarineZine didn't mean to create problems. These things happen. We very much hope they only happen ONCE! There were various reasons for the delay in bringing out the new version and for our dropping the first half of the old name - we won't bore you with the details.

We'd like to thank everyone who has helped to bring this issue to readiness and to express the hope that anyone who reads this will add to the magazine in whatever way feels appropriate - suggestions, criticisms, news, views, stories, queries, information, anything and everything...it is only going to work in the long term if lots of people participate actively...

Special thanks to those who have agreed to help with the creation and editing of individual pages, especially Tom Pearson and Joanna Fielder. To all who have been so kind as to let us publish their words and/or pictures in this issue, our heartfelt thanks.

This MarineZine is dedicated to the memory of all who have lived and died by the sea,
the future of sailing and of  journalism online.
