It would be nice to think that, with so much information
available to us in this age of technology, that young people would be
becoming smarter, better equipped to face becoming an adult and more in
touch with their peers around the world. The last part is, perhaps true. Chat rooms have enabled us
to talk to almost anyone, almost anywhere. Unfortunately, a lot of the 'conversations'
that people tend to have in chat rooms are shallow and pointless, as though
people are afraid to be thought too serious if they approach issues that
matter to them.
Forums on a zillion topics have sprung up all over the
place and some of them are great while others are not so brilliant.
One set of forums that we particularly liked whilst surfing
to see what is available are those in the teens category at InVision.
Another good forum is the Teens forum at Veggieboards,
with all sorts of topics on the go.
This chat room and forum community sounds as though it
could be just perfect - it opened in 2005 and YOU decide who can join you in
your chat room, by invitation, so it's safe as long as you make sure you
know who people are before you go giving them the details of your chat room.
Whiz over to
http://www.weston133.com/ and
take a look around! Everything on the site is absolutely FREE and there is
no catch - would we send you there otherwise?!
Do you know of any great teen forums where
the topics are about decent subjects of interest to teenagers? We'd love to
hear about them and go check them out!
Have you visited the CyberTeens
site yet? We'd love to hear what you think of it - it looked pretty cool to
us but what would we know?!

Do you know someone who may be talking about running away
because of problems at home? Has someone you know run away but kept in touch
with you? Are you thinking of running away yourself? Please click on the
link to the Runaway Teens organization and then decide for yourself what is
the best you can do to try and help resolve the situation, whether yours or
someone else's. It can be hard, as a teenager, to see things from any other
perspective but our own. This website may help to make you, and anyone else
you want to tell about it, aware of the bigger picture. |
