BRINKMAN'S FARMS
Rex and Nancy Brinkman, married in 1940, started dairy and grain farming, also raising and processing turkeys.
That was not all they raised, and their children and grandchildren are part of the operation
today!
In 1952, the Brinkmans purchased their present location, a few miles south of Findlay, Ohio, with the intention of making a
living by raising and processing turkeys and retailing them. In 1975, the farm became incorporated and the cannery operation was started.
The cannery processes turkey, chicken, beef, pork and other related food products.
The women in the cannery hand bone the meat and hand pack the cans to produce the finest product to be found in the region. Custom canning is available for many meat products, including fish and deer. Their products come highly recommended as provisions for cruising yachts.
Rex Brinkman has a keen interest in flowers, decorating the road front every year with some beautiful landscaping. In 1980, he expanded his interest in this field by building a greenhouse.
In 1985, a fire destroyed the turkey processing plant. Turkey production was later stopped and the Brinkmans went elsewhere to find a superior product to connect with their name.
In 1990, a large farm market was built on the east side of Findlay, Brinkman's Country Corner.
This market has an extensive meat department with the finest products available.
The market also sells Brinkman's home grown vegetables, their fine canned products, a yummy bakery and deli department and a glorious greenhouse.
Fall (autumn) is a busy time with the pumpkin patch, FFA fruit sales, and preparing for the holiday turkey rush.
Brinkman's Turkey Farms, Inc., today includes crops, cannery, farm market, greenhouse and grain farming. They say that, if they have enjoyed any success, it has come about by selling only the finest quality products possible. They enjoy the work they face each and every day.
