Movie screen and audienceClassic movie or latest release, if you have enjoyed a good film lately, tell us about it.
Apart from the title, we'd appreciate your comments. We'll list the most popular choices and some films that seem to have escaped the notice of most but that sound worth tracking down. Most of us have a fairly wide taste in films. We'd love to hear of ten films you'd recommend, off the top of your head or, if you can choose, your TOP TEN FILMS list...

Here's a list we came up with at a moment's notice:

A Walk In The Clouds - not a favourite with the hard-nosed critics but a beautiful film about a young man in love with a girl who lives in a Mexican vineyard... photography to cry over...

Bram Stoker's Dracula -
a classic scary movie

Casablanca -
the classic romance with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman as star-crossed lovers - this movie is not in colour but that doesn't mean it's not colourful...

Lethal Weapon 4 -
and 1, 2 & 3 too, come to think of it!

Maverick -
poker in the wild West - a riot

Return Of The Pink Panther -
Inspector Clouseau at his best

The Professional -
exciting and touching at the same time

Tombstone -
Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday shouldn't be missed

Titanic -
a painting found lying in the wreck stirs an aged survivor to tell a wonderful story of true love and tragedy

Under Siege -
Steven Segal at his best aboard the sexy USS Missouri

Almost as soon as we had jotted down the first ten, we thought of ten more which we both felt deserved a place in any list!
All Of Me (Steve Martin)
Batteries Not Included
Blues Brothers 2000
Crocodile Dundee
Johnny Dangerously
Deep Blue
Free Willie
Predator
Robocop
The Assassins

As you can see we like all sorts of movie, from the poignant to the hilarious, the classic love-story to the action-packed thriller.
Any of those appeal to you?  Have you seen any, or all, of them?   We'd love to know what would be on your list(s). Have you watched any movies lately? Care to tell us what you thought of them?.. If you turn our readers on to one good movie or prevent them wasting their cash on one lousy one, you'll have done a fine thing. If you fancy yourself as a movie critic, this is your chance to find out if your tastes coincide with those of other readers!
Trevor Keith Lawrence aboard 'Bilbo' says his top ten movies are:
Star Wars (the original movie)
Stargate
Entrapment
The Fabulous Baker Brothers
2001 - A Space Odyssey
Gandhi
Sneakers
L.A. Confidential
The Life Of Brian
Chain Reaction

We will be bringing you a list of other movies Trevor has seen and his comments on them in the next issue - if you care to send us your top ten list and comments on other movies, we'll be glad to add them to the page.

If you have decided to go to the cinema and see one of the latest releases, as a special treat, it's always difficult to choose, isn't it? Even choosing movies in a video/DVD rental store can be difficult - if you know a particular critic happens to share your tastes, or have such polarically opposed tastes that his/her pet hates are bound to be to your liking, it can help.

When you're abroad it can be hard to discover what the latest films are about and so many films are released every year that all of us are bound to have missed some goodies. Sites aimed at informing one sometimes take forever to load and seem more intent on selling than telling... Maybe this page can help - if we all pass on news of  the films we've enjoyed the most, or the least.

We hear, from a source we cannot gauge, that the film you must not miss, if you are a Robin Williams fan, is Bicentennial Man, supposedly one of his best performances ever...

A star-studded cast, including Tom Cruise and Jason Robards, to name but the icing, appear in Magnolia, while Jodie King managed not to suffer too much from all the advance publicity accorded to Anna And The King. Want to give your children a glimpse of the tender years of a parent generation?  They say it has to be Stuart Little...

DVD The Film CD : talk to us about the films you have enjoyed in this format. What difference has having a DVD player made to life aboard?

We will gladly review the latest releases on DVD for any company who cares to send us complimentary copies and pass on any extras to others for review, provided we can count on them to submit their reviews within seven days of receiving the DVD.

Video Rentals : For many cruisers, one of the high spots in life is the discovery of a good video rental facility, a chance to see some new films. Here we would like to share details of video rental shops around the world.
