'NEIGHBOURS'

By Hayley Robinson, aged 9. (no relation to our Executive Editor)

Once there was a man who lived in a terraced house.
He was not very happy at all. On one side of him, there was a mechanic. On the other side of him, there was a music teacher.
Every morning he was woken up by the mechanic's banging and clanging and the voices of children singing.

One day he said to himself, "I can't stand it any longer."
But he could not hear himself think, so he shouted it aloud.
Then he had a good idea.

He went to the mechanic and said," I will give you this money if you will move."

Then he went to the music teacher and said, "I will give you this money if you will move."
"Sure, I will move tomorrow." the music teacher said.

The next day the man went to help the music teacher pack.
He said," I hope you have found a nice place to stay?"
"Oh yes," she replied "I am lucky, I heard that the mechanic was looking for somewhere to move into, so he is moving into my house and I am moving into his..."

Well done, Hayley!
