The
name (based on the fact that Norway is often referred to as the Land of the Midnight Sun, because of the seasonal phenomena that accompany being situated so far
North) was invented by the author because, although most people know the game itself, nobody seemed to know what it was called if, indeed, it had a name.
John Roger Taraldsen made this excellent
solitaire card game freeware as a response to the low standard of card
games he found amongst shareware offerings, in the hopes that it might
help to redress the balance.
 There is certainly no lack of features and the game is
challenging and enjoyable.
 Success at last. It was great fun getting
there too! Yes, this is a definite improvement on many
commercial solitaire games. The author has succeeded in his aims, as far
as we're concerned.
