PiQuest FastOpen is simple to use and makes using your computer much easier: Add any folder local or remote to the menu. Have full control over your menu - something you can't do with your Start menu. Open any folder at any time without adding it to the menu. Add separators to
customize the menu. Add any program or document, local or remote to the menu. It is possible to add arguments or ask for arguments before running a program. Automatically add all your drives to the menu, local or remote. Add web addresses of sites that you visit often. Play a wave file when you launch your
applications. Easily monitor invalid entries. FastOpen uses very few resources. When you aren't actually accessing the menu, FastOpen does not take any resources.
We could not find a way to capture the FastOpen pop-up menu but here is a picture of the Settings panel... As you can see, we use this excellent toolbar. In fact we use all of the toolbars included
in this collection!
Incidentally, for reasons we have not fathomed, a left click on Help
causes the Connect to the Internet screen and nothing else to come up.
Right-clicking on it brings up the .htm Help pages that are stored in
the PiQuest folder but also brings up the screen! We tried to create a
shortcut to help.htm in the Help folder contained in the PiQuest
directory and use that in FastOpen instead, but the same thing happens!
To avoid the problem, browse to help.htm in the folder and create a
shortcut from it to put somewhere convenient (right click on help.htm
and select Create Shortcut. One will appear in the same folder. Cut and
paste the shortcut to Desktop or wherever you would like it to
be). Fortunately, it does not take long to learn to use the
application!
There may even be an improved version on offer online, by now, anyway.
