	With 47 sets of complete plans and instructions, there should be something here to suit your purposes! In this edition, John Gardner combines two of his earlier books and you will find some great boats to build in this collection, or just to read about and dream, although we're betting it'll be hard to resist the temptation to rush out and by a couple of sheets of marine ply and commandeer the garage... Apart from his technical expertise, John Gardner also shares some of his extensive historical knowledge and you will find information on using some of the more modern materials as well as the traditional kind. Rowing, sailing and power boats are all included.
The drawings are excellent and, as always, John Gardner gives you all the encouragement you need to have a go, covering the technicalities without becoming pedantic about them. If you have never done anything remotely like this, you may like to add another book to your library, as it is assumed that you are not an absolute novice. We recommend you also take a look at one or two of the other titles on our nautical book pages that, together with this book, should be all a beginner needs to have the capacity to build a boat and take to the water.
