Outboard Engines: Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Repair by Ed Sherman was reviewed in MarineZine's Bookshelves section and the following comments come from a reader in the USA:
"Although I already owned the manufacturer's manual for my outboard, this book added the practical trouble-shooting and common-sense elements that I needed and I have managed to keep my outboard engine going without needing outside help ever since I took the time to read it through and then work with it next to me. Considering that I had been on the verge of scrapping the motor altogether when I got the book, I have plenty to be happy about. I only wish I had owned the book when the motor was new, because there are plenty of tips on avoiding getting an outboard into the state mine was in. When I do finally replace this one, I shall be following Ed Sherman's advice on staying out of trouble, which should help to prolong its life. A great book to have around." Pete Redland |
